CFO Advisory

Financial leadership with the judgment of someone who has already sat in the CFO's chair.

Schedule a Consultation

Most businesses reach a point where the numbers are accurate but nobody is telling them what the numbers mean. Filings go out on time, the books close, and yet pricing is still set by instinct, cash is forecast on guesswork, and the board pack takes too long to assemble.

Compliance was never meant to answer strategic questions. We do. This practice exists to close that gap — financial leadership delivered with the rigour of a Chartered Accountancy firm and the judgment of someone who has run finance from inside a business.

How we engage04 steps

    Discovery call

A conversation about where the business is now and what is actually creating friction — not a sales presentation.

What you receive

a monthly reporting pack built around your business rather than a template, a maintained cash and forecasting model, board and investor materials on an agreed cadence, and direct access to the partner on your engagement.

Why work with us03 reasons
  • Experience from inside the business, not just across the table

This practice is led by a Chartered Accountant with over two decades in corporate finance leadership roles — owning P&Ls, running strategic planning cycles, and leading systems transformations at global organisations. That is a materially different starting point from advisory built on audit experience alone.

  • Technical rigour behind every number

The commercial judgment sits on top of a Chartered Accountancy foundation, so the analysis you act on is built on numbers that will stand up to an auditor, a lender or an acquirer.

  • One team across the full finance stack

CFO advisory, accounting, tax, regulatory compliance and assurance run through a single firm, so the strategic advice is never disconnected from the compliance reality underneath it.

What is the difference between a virtual CFO, a fractional CFO and an outsourced CFO?
In practice the terms overlap. Virtual describes the delivery model — the CFO works remotely rather than from your office. Fractional describes the commitment — a defined share of a senior person's time rather than a full-time seat. Outsourced describes the relationship — the function sits with an external firm rather than on your payroll. We scope engagements around the level of involvement your business actually needs and are not precious about which label it carries.
How is this different from hiring an accountant or a controller?
A controller keeps the books accurate and the filings on time. A CFO reads what those books mean for the decision in front of you — pricing, hiring, capital structure, whether a contract is worth signing. Both matter. This service sits above the accounting function rather than replacing it, and works alongside your existing accountant or ours.
Can you attend board and investor meetings?
Yes. Board pack preparation and presenting at board or investor meetings are a standard part of most engagements. The reporting cadence is built into the monthly cycle so board materials are a by-product of the normal process, not a scramble in the week before.
Do you help with ERP selection and implementation?
Yes, under our finance transformation work. Neeraj Thakur has led enterprise-wide ERP and systems transformations in-house at large multinational organisations, including a Platinum Award-recognised SAP implementation at Honeywell, so this is an area we advise on from direct operating experience rather than from a vendor's brochure.
What size of business does this suit?
Typically businesses that have outgrown a bookkeeper but cannot yet justify a full-time CFO — usually somewhere between the first serious revenue and the point where finance headcount reaches five or six people. We are equally often engaged by established businesses whose finance function works but is not producing decision-grade information.
